GHS Weighted Action
Yamaha's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted action has a heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. Great for the aspiring pianist, practicing on the GHS action builds the proper technique and develops finger strength. The matte finish of the black keys are less slippery and provide more control when playing.
Advanced Wave Memory
AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling uses digital recording technology to capture the tone of an acoustic piano. AWM Stereo Sampling creates a deeper, richer and more spacious sound by using pairs of audio waveforms (L and R) captured in the studio with two microphones. The P-45 uses AWM to play one sample per key at varying levels of volume and timbre.
Lightweight and Portable
The P-45 is slim and stylish, with a depth of under 12 inches. Its weight is under 25 lbs, making the instrument very easy to transport to lessons, school, or performances.
Improved Polyphony
The P-45 has been improved from its predecessor, and now offers a full 64 notes of polyphony. This allows the player to perform complex piano passages, even using heavy sustain pedal, without notes being cut off.
USB Connectivity
The USB port allows you to connect and interact with a wide variety of educational, music creation or music entertainment applications on a Mac or PC
